Please buy 2 new crush washers for your Banjo bolt...

Fork oil... you'll need to drain your old one, a repair kit is likely to be shit, you need new seals.

Spark plug is about £4 from a shop and the gap will not matter on your bike, all mine have worked fine outside of the box.

Theres easy guides for everything you want to do on YouTube, and everything you want to do is basic stuff so shouldn’t give you any troubles.

Spark plug gap tools £6 from Halfords. Valve clearance tool is about the same. Have you ever checked your valve clearances? Your bikes done 11k miles? IMHO garages never check them unless they have a reason the bikes not running right, so I prefer to give them an odd check every so often myself. If your doing all that too your bike you may aswell give them a check too.

Also, over £10 for a spark plug? You can get the same one from Halfords for £8.99, Iridium version I think of your spark plug for £6.50 on Ebay CR8EHIX-9 ? https://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/350619616876?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y

If riveted chain, you're gonna need a riveting tool and angle grinder. If not, I can't imagine that's particularly hard. Gonna need a breaker bar to get the front sprocket nut off I woulda though.

You're gonna have to remove the forks to drain them (unless Paddy has a bodge) so yeh, you're gonna have to take the wheel off.

Yes, you'll need to do that.

You also want crush washers, not just normal washers.

There are bodge ways of doing fork seals and oil... but fuck that, I'll get banned Laughing

The average person? Probably not too hard, but time consuming.

For you? LOL! Take many photos for BCF fun times.

plug, oil, pads is easy enough to figure out as you go along.
if it's not a split link chain you're changing from/to then good luck as it's a ball ache without the tool.
changing fork seals is not fun, get a haynes or do a fair amount of research in to what you're going to be doing.

As above - if you are not mechanically minded, do not attempt the fork seals yourself unless you can afford the bike the time off the road while you deal with working it out and getting it right.

Levers, oil filter, brake pads and spark plugs depending on access to them are all easy.

You may just have to increase idle speed a touch. Google daelim idle screw. should just be an easy to reach philips screw under the tank.

regarding riding with leaky seals, when my cgs seals went I ended up with a rainbow coloured front wheel and the eternal feeling my front end was going too wash out. I would say its very unsafe.

idle screw should be on the carb doohickey

https://www.scootusa.com/images/carb_adjust_idle.jpg

something like that. let the engine warm up and adjust it while its running. it shouldn't need much.

Fork seals, they'll probably change a few hours labour, £20 an hour labour is just never going to happen.

I've told him it's good money after bad, but he's a determined wabbit.

With the fork seal, run a piece of thin plastic or a feeler gauge between the seal and the fork stanchion, all the way round. Sort out any burring on the stanchion as well - very gentle abrasion to take off any sharp edges and then nail varnish to smooth it out.

Might work, might not, but you can DIY it and it might save you a lot of time and money.

Dying at idle is likely to be your idle jet. Fuel filter, clean fuel, or strip the carb and clean the jet and check the float height while you're in there.

Or, and bear with me, figure out what's wrong with the current one. Has it shrunk?
