The other day I thought I would be all responsible and check my tyre pressure... Wrong
For the whole designated 3minutes of air you get for 20p I was faffing around trying to position the hose thing onto my tyre valves, couldnt for the life of me work it out....
Do they fit?! |

20p? You were lucky getting one that cheap, they're all 50p by me.
Probably due to the global financial rise in the cost of air... ____________________ Fz50>Ts185>Rd125Lc>Cb250n Superdream "Deluxe" (!)>Kmx200>Tdr250>Yzf600 Thundercat>

Bend the end part of the air pipe until it is at an angle where it fits.
It's pretty soft metal and bends easily enough by hand. The next biker will thank you and you won't prevent car drivers using it. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I always keep one of these in my pocket/bike tool kit. They have come in far more useful for others as I always check my tyre pressures immediately before I go out for a ride.If anything I slightly over-inflate my tyres the night before so that barometric/temperature variations overnight mean that I can let air out instead of scrabbling around for the foot pump in bike gear the next morning.
As for alloy valve caps seizing - if the pressures are checked often enough, why would they seize. In the years that I have been using alloy valve caps I have never had one seize where I might have had to use a pair of pliers to remove it.If anything, apply a smear of copaslip to the threads of the valve stem.
Another thing to take into consideration of forecourt compressors is the accuracy of the gauge.I have a Michelin electronic gauge which is accurate to +/- 0.5psi.So I use this to check the accuracy of my pencil gauge which I use on the bikes and keep in my bike tool kit. ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?

I got the Michelin double-barrel for a tenner I think, on sale at Argos last year. It has attachments for my pushbike's skinny valves as well, and has an accurate pressure guage as checked with one of these.
As I have a motorbike only, I didn't see the point of the electric option. ____________________ If you can keep your head when all about you
