 |
|
Been back commuting on 2 wheels the past week or so, and noticed that the front end was a bit unresponsive. "Must get the tyre pressures checked", thought I, and dug out the relevant info, 36psi front, 42 rear. Unfortunately, due to work etc, I didn't have time until this morning on this, my only day off in a run of 15 days on. I wasn't wrong. 24 front, 28 rear. No wonder it was handling like it was being ridden through sludge. The run home from the garage was wonderful, even took some twisty detours, just to make sure I wasn't imagining it. What a mahoosive difference.
I will now make a solemn promise, in the presence of the mighty nobcat, that I will forevermore keep on top of my tyre pressures. Ta. ____________________ Responsibility. try to check mine at least once a week.
Why do bikes have such high tire pressures compared to cars ? eg:
dug out the relevant info, 36psi front, 42 rear. |

When I first bought my Hornet I rode it round for a few days and thought the front end was a bit fruity to say the least. So I checked the tyre pressures only to find that the rear was spot on at 42psi but the front was inflated to 46psi instead of 36psi.
That explained that then. |

Mine are always at the wrong pressure and I make sure they're kept that way. The pain of having a bike that sometimes takes a pillion.
Same goes for the suspension.
Good enough reason to get another bike with one seat and set how I like it. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

I didn't check mine once before a trackday, the heat i put into the tyres caused the pressure to jump up to 50psi.
Then this happened
