Try https://www.clickquote.com. They are likely to be one of the most realistic online brokers you will find, though even then you should phone round all the insurers in the back of Biketrader and play themselves off against each other to get cheaper still.
Sports 400s are always going to be expensive, even at 19 rather than 17. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Does sound lots, I would expect about half that really. Online quotes are crap, they will always give you a daft number. You want to get a copy of Bike Trader and then phone every single insurance company in the back of it. Once you've got a long list of quotes phone back around the cheapest 5-10 of them and ask them "I've been quoted £xyz by ABC, can you beat it?" repeat this until none will go any lower. It will take a couple of hours, but you'll save a few hundred quid for a couple of hours work.
Alternatively, have a look at this thread about Danny's insurance finding service. |

Nope, it sound bad.
I'm 19 and I got my CBR400 insured for £550, with a lot of bonus things like free breakdown/low excess/EU cover/3rd party on other bikes etc
I'll PM you the insurance brokers. Maybe they can sort you out a good deal as well.
ps I haggled between the cheapest last 2 companies and saved 100 plus pounds. |

Way over priced! Where do you live, 'the Isle of Man'.
If you do what everyone here is saying I reckon things should get much cheaper - aim for about £500-600 with a few extras like breakdown cover etc... ____________________ There's no way to happiness, happiness is the way. |
