i have a cb500s and speedo was not working checked the cable and it had snapped near the speedo end bought replacement and fitted it but is still not working feeling in the gap to the speedo where the cable screws in i can feel what seems a spindle is this supposed to be there or is this where the cable snapped a second time sorry this seems a silly question but i am not that technicaly minded

Make sure the inner of the cable is properly seated at both ends. Thumbs Up

Did you take the broken bit out of the speedo before fitting the new one?

i found a broken bit in the cable its self but as i say putting my finger in the hole were the cable goes i can feel what is either a spindle or part of the cable broken and stuck in there should there be nothing there allowing the cable to push in ?
