 |
|
I have this can on the bike currently (complete system):
https://www.mandp.co.uk/netalogue/content/images/large/GAAEXMMNX.jpg
But the bracket just above the motad badge has snapped. It's currently bodged tied up until I either replace it or get it welded. The can is really quiet, so I'd rather replace it with something that makes the bike sound a bit nicer. Hopefully my other bike will sell soon meaning I can afford to fix/replace the can. I'd really like a more beefy sound and a cheap can.
Is it a case of anything will fit if cut... or is it a case of it being a strange shape, meaning I can't just chop & swap?
Or can I make the motad sound nice and just get the bracket welded? ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

we stopped fitting badges 8 years ago (this dates it) so the can has seen some life and is unlikely to have enough to weld
your suggestion of making it sound "nicer" could mean you failing mot or just being pulled on the road - its made to maximise noise inside the legal limit and most of the "race cans" that we see on the dyno just make a racket without any significant overal power gains
if you are struggling give me a shout on ianmcdonald@motad.co.uk and I will check our ex test or seconds stock |

That exhaust is quiet though. A loud exhaust these days is minimal fuss for most police and MOT places clearly do not care
Ideally, you would want to check the diameter of the pipe after that stupid dent thats put in there, find a slip on can with a link pipe and get it clamped on. |

Well, my other bike still hasn't sold yet so I can't really afford to let myself buy anything yet.
But nice to know I should be able to put something else on there. It'll have to wait until 01/June at the earliest to get my hands on an angle grinder though. That stuff's at my dad's and I can't head home; too much revision for exams starting Wednesday! ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

That looks boss. Hiding the clutch rattle would be lovely. On a scale of 0 to Paddy's GSXR, what would you class that sound as? ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |
