I'm a tight twat, If its a case of just re wiring and changing the bulb for a dual fitment, then I'd do that. If that's not possible, I'd look at re placing with a suitable alternative ____________________ 1980 Honda H100A, Cafe racer. (SOLD)

I've converted an H100 to 12v this week, so I'll be running a 12v LED tail light in that - if you can find a 6v LED stop/tail, that would be perfect for saving power, and making your headlight a bit better! |
I'd be interested in how you went about converting to 12v, from what I've read up on, thought it virtually impossible?
I'll keep an eye out for 6v LED But I'd rather keep it to a minimum spend (The Irish blood in me boils if I spend too much) Would you say the 2 links above, would work out, fitted into the bullet already on the bike, I would assume size wise they'd be the same, just a case of finding a way to fit then into the casing? ____________________ 1980 Honda H100A, Cafe racer. Fitting it into the casing would be the hard part, but theoretically possible. Piss easy to convert to 12v from what I found this week (at least for an H100A it is) -
1) get a 2 phase, 12v reg/rec off a shitty chinese scooter
2) connect the generator wires to it (the wiring colours even match the shitty scooter reg/rec),
3) fit a 12v battery from an early CG125 and connect battery wires to regulator (connect the battery to the loom as normal, in addition to regulator wire)
4) take the rectifier diode out
5) disconnect the pink wire to the ballast resistor
6) connect a black wire from inside the ignition switch, to the yellow wire that goes to the headlight switch,
7) replace bulbs and horn with 12v versions
8) Ignore the fact it has a 6v coil and CDI, these seem unaffected by the overvoltage - I'd been running them with the genny pumping out 20v for quite a while - that was the reason for the 12v conversion (I'll find out what happens long term when it's been used a bit more) ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |

You make it sound so easy
Looking closer at the bullets it seems the top one is a dual fitment, with a single filament bulb fitted into it, the bulb holder has two connection points, where as the other two (Brake lights) have a single connection point, but all the bulbs are single filament, ____________________ 1980 Honda H100A, Cafe racer.
