Hey everyone.

Ive been on this forum for a few months but this is my first post; and im after some advice Cool

I was looking at CBR's the other night on Ebay and i came across the 2003 CBR 600 RR for only £1600......i emailed and asked why it was so cheap or if i mis-understood what exactly he was selling Very Happy Auction ended anyway....no buyers.....and he got back to me saying hes in the military serving in Italy has financial problems and needs a quick sale. He said he'd pay delivery to the UK via Fedex (taking about 3 days) as he knows people working there that will give him a discount. (Did anyone else see this bike btw?)

Sounds fantastic but is he going to pull my pants down? Would i have to pay tax on the bike if it was brought over?

Anything else you think i should ask him?? Should i touch it with a bargepole??

Thanks a million Thumbs Up
Jazzy T

No, No and NO!!!

It is a scam, do not even consider it!! You will send your money to him and that would be the last you would hear.

You would not have to pay tax though as the bike would never be bought over to this country, the reason for this is that the bike does not even exist.

If something seems too good to be true, then usually it is!

Scam, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

If you want to be difficult ask for the engine and frame serial number and details of the registration - which ever country its registered in. (Even then they could have the bike).

Always ask yourself, is this too good to be true? You'd be looking about 6/7K for a second hand one here.

£1600 for an 03 CBR600RR?

There will be something up with that.
Even if he wants to get rid of it quick, £1600 is ridiculous.

1) if the bikes in Italy, you cant see it before you buy it.

2) get a HPI check done....dunno if it will work over there.

3) sounds far too good to be true..

Be Careful!
(I wouldnt touch it personally)

Scam scammety scam methinks.

Having said that, if he has a .mod.uk email address, I should think it's likely to be legitimate.

I wouldn't even bother wasting your time on putting together a reply as he just come up with more bullshit trying to get you to part with your money. He said he was in Italy and would have the bike shipped over to you, but the bike is still in [another country] from when he was serving there and hasn't had it shipped to Italy yet so viewing in Italy is not possible.

He has it all sussed.

They'd probably get a lot more bids if they put a more realistic bargain price though.
