Yeah, I have one on each of my bikes.
I would never depend on it alone for security but it's a bit of extra peace of mind, especially if I am leaving the bike somewhere other than at home and don't have my locks & chains available. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

You can grab a cheap Cyclone V2 alarm. Loud. I've just fitted one on my bike after some arse tried stealing my bike ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

piss easy to fit
get a massive chain with a massive lock aswell.
loop it through the back wheel and over the back seat.
keep the chain loose so it makes as much noise as possible when moved.

I know people slate Oxford stuff but I've had a Screamer disc lock from day one, used every day and only needed new batteries once.
Still works perfectly, I squirt a bit of WD in the key hole now and again to keep things smooth.
Very sensitive, you only have to rip the velcro on your glove and it goes off! |

I have the Almax series 3 lock, I just didn't lock it up that night
I am also a member on zxrworld, although I find it to be too quiet! A lot of threads seem to go unanswered.

And I really doubt they pulled both bikes across the road to smash the steering locks, armed with tools they probably just ripped the ZXR's steering lock off, hence it being place like that. The alleys would have been so the neighbours didn't see them. If they didn't use tools to rip it off, it's a 2-3 man job breaking the steering lock, one with a foot on one side of the bars and pulling the same way with both hands. |
The steering lock had been ripped off, the bolts are sheared and still in the frame, along with damage to the frame where the pin scraped by
Also we think it was a group of guy anyway, it takes some maneuvering to get the bikes onto the front garden, its about 10x4 ft with a small entrance in one corner! The only way they could have got them out without waking anyone would have been to life them out as they lean up against my friends bedroom window!
Think the reason they took them over to the alleyway was so they had time to work on starting them, they went about cutting and striping certain wires to do so...
As for the Stella create, I live on a road that is 98% students (2% smack heads) so it will most likely be rubbish thrown over the garden wall during BBQ season, I've never seen groups of chavs hanging around down there, one positive thing about this part of Southampton :o
Cheers for the info guys!! I think a Cyclone V2 would do the trick perfectly |

That was clever of you to give out tips to overcome a bike steering lock.

Awwwww, that's just sad, for him and them.
Personally I'd go with an alarmed disk lock, as you should be able to get that today, and so might get some sleep tonight. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
