I took my 125 to 55 mph today and then lost power and it started to make a ticking noise. Now it tops at 35 and still has this annoying noise.

my first thing to check is small end n big end bearings for excessive play on the crank. the valves in the head for any bluing on the cam n sticky or bent valve.
also check the bore n piston for any damage like scoring,, also check the oil level

Post up a vid showing the noise and it'll help us identify possible causes.

Hmm air cooled four stroke making a ticking noise and down on power, thats a hard one.

Head gasket, compression test to be sure.

Ignore all the other suggestions.
