If you want lower pegs and don't mind a bit of DIY then the pegs from a Buell ulysses can be modified to fit, no mods are done to the bike or it's rearsets so you can return it to standard in next to no time.

Fifteen15, it does feel like a gym workout . i am 6.2 tall and around 21 stone and laying all that weight on my wrist was a killer.
still have the pain but don't care as it worth it . it is kind of like gym workout
the bike is multipurpose, pleasing me and gaining muscle
kiddakidda and GrumpyGuts, here it is although it is only one pic i took while in parking

The seat is crap.
Fifteen15 is correct too, if you're tall you might will find the S (faired one) a bastard on the wrists and back if you're riding around town. Out on the motorway, it's fine.

I'm 5"10 and find the SVs can be uncomfortable at slow speeds.
But you can normally shift your weight around to avoid it & high speeds it's not an issue |

If you're riding fast on the motorway, you're not stopping and starting all the time (and so having your own weight pushing forward on your wrists) and also the wind blast might support you a bit. YMMV, but that's what I found with mine.
Still not that comfortable a bike IMHO. ____________________ Previous: 2002 Honda CB500 (sold), 2007 Suzuki SV650SK6 (crashed), 2005 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer (sold). Currently bikeless

would this pain go away after a while, possibly when you gain some muscle around the wrist ?
is it the same when riding r1 and other bikes ? or sv650 is unique? i guess it is same on all clipon handle bars due to the riding position |

I found my SV quite uncomfortable coming from my straight position YBR.
Check out SV650.org for my thread, I had a good moan
However after shifting my weight around and changing my body position, I can't really complain after riding for over an hour.
Faster speeds do help as it transfers your weight off your wrists, I find with slow / city riding you put more pressure onto your wrists.
Don't get me wrong it's not a on off switch, decelerating doesn't trigger instant pain. But when traveling at slow speeds, aches ect are a lot more noticeable / common
If your still within your first 200 miles, you wont be comfy yet
It will happen when your not thinking about it. |
