Can anyone comment on Spitfire Sparks? Are they any better than NGK's? 8)

Save your money. They are not much use. The spark will just jump over the best gap, so you will not get 2 sparks. There only advantage is that as they wear and the gap increases, it will do so more slowly. However, with a 2 stroke where plugs foul up long before the gap gets to be a problem this is not really any help.

Think they have been done in the USA by the equivalent of advertising standard agency for having no proof of their claims of more power

All the best

I did use a splitfire plug in my KMX200, and i think that i found some improvement? I noticed that starting was generally a 1 kick affair, where as before it might have needed a few kicks to start from cold. The throttle response and low end power seemed better, but that may have just been down to the Boyesen Reedvalve, that i fitted at the same time. The plug lasted 2000mile without any real signs of wear, so maybe its a true long life 2 stroke spark plug, but as for performance i doubt that there is much to be gained from a plug change.

Hi

I suspect that any change in starting would be more likely to be down to the slight differences between the heat range equivalents between different plug makers.

As to long life, in 2000 mile the central electrode wont wear much. Plenty of cars these days have spark plugs with a 60000 mile life (which is when you find that having not taken the plugs out for 5 years they are seized solidly in place!)

All the best
