So I've found myself working in leeds for a bit - can anyone recommend some decent routes to liven up the commute?

Cheers

Over't hills from Oldham to Hudds?
The mother lives in Rochdale and I generally do a route through the hills to Huddersfield then any ol' way to Leeds. There's the A62 which goes to Leeds but it's very boring and full of traffic.

BUT the motorway is a 50 zone from Huddersfield to Leeds anyway, which is just as boring. Up to you Thumbs Up

on the 125 I used to go up (on the way to the north east) via the road by hollingworth lake, a bit more interesting than the motorway

A628 Manchester to Barnsley road, but turn left towards Huddersfield just when you come out of penistone at the top of the hill

Some lovely routes over the pennines, last of the summer wine territory, a62 as someone mentioned.
Also the other side of the m62, Sowerby Bridge/ Ripponden nice.
Just go for a mooch, anything is better than the M62 drag at the moment.

Littleborough to Howarth 'over the tops' is ok.

But not really worth it for the extra time spent, I'd say.

A640 takes you from ainley top in hudds through to around j21 of the m62 milnrow.

Good road, especially once you get over the crossroad with the pub on the corner. Just be careful of the potholes!
