Haven't really read up on it, licence changes and shit. My friend who has ridden with me for 5 years or so, gone through a few bikes, ridden mine for a bit of fun etc wants to do his test.

Is it just as simple as my giving him my bike, adding to my insurance and him booking the cbt, theory, mod1 and mod2 still?

Happy to provide him with the bike and get the bike there etc.

Exactly that, get Theory booked NOW, then it's done. No Bike needed. Send him for CBT, if all OK. Let him ride round for a week or two then ride him to the test place and let him do the two modules. Easy.

EDIT: Hasn't he got a valid CBT? If he's riding, or is he only riding on a private road.

Insurance might be a cvnt because he doesn't have the licence to ride the bike.

If you do manage it can you let me know? ill provide you with many beer tokens if I can get my licence on the cheap Wink

He's had 2 valid CBTs in the past. He can ride no issues really, just currently wants to start riding.

Happy to give him the R1 if its any bike over 600cc, its not hard to do u turns or 8's on at all, just needs to have a go on private land.

Sure, no formal training is necessary beyond the CBT.

Lending him the R1? Like a boss. "Oi, DSA Derek, try to keep up." Very Happy

Insurance, phew. Daytona Paul was saying that Bikesure do policies where they'll cover you as a Learner on a bigger bike for up to 2 months. An R1 though...?

I called bikesure to add a mate to my policy to do the test, phonemonkey said they don't do that.

I just ran through some quotes to insure the Mrs on my bike on her own policy, they wouldn't quote, that was MCN. I can't add her to mine as I've got that Carole Nash multi-bike where I can't add anyone else.

eBike seem to not mind.

I have a multibike with 2 125s.
I can add him at the price of fuck all. It says he can ride anything that his licence covers, would that cover him under instruction?

Mod 1, doesn't matter. Mod 2, if there is any accident (even non-fault), you can be sure it will be done by the book with an expert witness. I'd want to ensure it was all spot on, in this case.

His provisional / car license with provisional entitlement covers him to ride under instruction, so technically he is covered,

may be worth checking with the broker or underwriter that they dont' exclude somewhere in T's & C's
