How do I put on the masterlink its too tight. I am puzzled.

More details needed - what type of link? What's too tight, the chain or the actual fitting of the link?

RK o ring chain with 428 master link,it is just impossible to push it on :/ I cant compress it over the ridges for the clip

fitting the plate before the clip its the plate that is tight

What have you tried using to push it on? I've always used a chain tool but you could always use a C clamp or something similar to push it on.

yes tried that, I can't compress the orings enough by hand

This is the type of tool that I use for installing soft links and spring clip links.They can be used to press the inner link over the pins until there is sufficient space for the spring clip to be installed.The same procedure is used for a soft link,except that I prise the outer link out a bit after I have splayed out the soft pins.This then allows the rivetted link to move more freely.

It is very fiddly and takes a bit of practice but can be done. I used a small set of Mole grips to compress the link, leaving enough room to slide the clip over the first post, remove grips and slide clip across.
BTW, if it's a re-usable link, they're normally referred to as a "Split Link".

When I did mine on my old YBR and after putting grease in the link I compessed the side plate on with a pair of needle nosed pliers as the orings are not compressed like the rest of the chain. Then I cold put the split pin on.
