They've been resurfacing roads like this since they've been making tarmac roads.
It's nothing new. The council aren't interested, neither are parliament.
The only issue would be if they had put loose chippings down without warning signs, in which case complain to the council for country roads and the highways agency for trunk roads.
Slow down, smooth up. Be thankful for an intact, grippy surface when winter comes.
At least you know where you are with surface dressing. It's asphalt bitumen mastic you need to watch out for. Looks like a racetrack, grips like black-ice for the first year. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

They've been and still are putting that tar and chip stuff everywhere over here too. I agree that they should stop using it also.
Came round a corner this evening only to come across this stuff. No warning sign prior to it, only sinage was to say there were no road markings
I understand tbe reasons for doing it, which is basically because it's cheap but, I'd rather they did a proper job of resurfacing roads, rather than this cheap cowboy work they do. It's far too dangerous for two wheels, no matter how slow you go. |

They make roads for the sake of a transport network not a bludy playground/race-track.
Grow up.

Haven't noticed much of this at all in the south, is it just a temperature thing up north 'preparing' roads for winter or something - not that loose grits probably an ideal preperation |

Christ only places i recall seeing it in bristol is odd side roads literaly tiny avenue/closes, and one 20 metre section they literally dug up entirely for road works for a few months. Maybe im just missing the spots theyve done on my common routes |

I love it. Around plumton the other week me and a mate found a road with lots of gravel on it. Hooned it right up to 65 and had the rear wheel slipping out a lot.
Try not to use front brake though. ____________________ KAWASAKIIIII |

Around ours it seems to be potholes that are the problem, especially after the bad winter. Some have been patched up (poorly by the looks of it). Also why does every bloody bend have to have 3 random manhole covers? |
