Welcome to BCF Rod.
Always gloves. The rest will depend on the weather and where I'm going.
Long hauls on motorways and A roads I tend to wear leathers. Local journeys... sometimes kevlar jeans and jacket. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud

Depends on what I am riding, if it is my Fazer 600 or my Deauville 650 then I wear winter gloves (year round), full textile gear & waterproof boots, if it is my husband then I wear nothing but a huge smile
I am also 48 and have been riding since my teenage years, bikes, not my husband |

Tbh, you're 48 years old, you've got enough money to spunk out on an 1100GS which isnt a cheap bike - even used and fucked up they're still over a grand. So the way i see it, you're clearly old enough to know better with 32 years of riding experience than to ride around with no kit on. I mean ffs - kevlar jeans have hip armour, knee armour & cost all of £40 posted to your door, so its not a cost thing either.
Or were you expecting congratulations on your manliness for riding around in jeans that WILL shred to bits the second you hit tarmac?
The below is a 35-40mph crash in a set of Levi 511's - so a decent quality set of jeans;

Maybe worth thinking next time. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

Going to work depends on weather if dry work pants, textile jacket, gloves and boots, if wet textile pants. Short trips from home normal jeans with boots, jacket, gloves. Out for a blast full textiles boots, gloves. ____________________ CBT passed March 2013, Mod1 passed May 2013, Mod 2 passed May 2013, Honda CBF 125 sold, Suzuki XF 650 Freewind |

For work its FT textiles but for the weekend I have a HG Sheltex jacket and Sartso Killer jeans.
I'm not gonna risk wearing anything less. |

My kit varies on ride duration and weather.
But I'll Always be in full motorbike gear.
Full face helmet
Textile / leather jacket
Textile / Kevlar trousers
Buffalo gloves
RST Boots
All or nothing for me, I don't find any of my kit uncomfortable.
But without trying to justify myself, I wear it for my safety and I personally feel safer ( NOT invincible ) wearing it. I'd feel extremely vulnerable without it, likely to the extent of not enjoying the ride.
You've got the gear, so why not put it on? |

Depends. If I'm out to have some fun on the bike, then two piece leathers, boots, gloves and of course, lid.
If I'm just travelling to work or the shops then it's as above, except I'll swap the leathers for textiles.
Both leathers and textiles have body armour too. |
