Upjetting wouldn't give it more "oomph" surely?

If you want "oomph" get a 2-stroke. A DT and Aprilia RS will still piss all over a 4 stroke CBR no matter what mods you do to it...

I have quite a um....hate for 2t's, love the smell of them though...but hey that's just me. I'm not bothered about beating other bikes and such, I just like to get off those lights before the mental cagers and have a little bit of fun every now and then Razz

I like 2T's but ever since owning my DT, it's been nothing but a pain in my balls. Things breaking needing work etc all the time. Spent over a grand in repairs on it since owning it. Crying or Very sad

I put a cone filter on. She ran, gave her a few little throttles and then left her at idle for about 2 mins then went to throttle again and all of a sudden BANG and she stalled. Sounded like it came from the carb. Am I right in thinking the bowl was ignited?

Oh I see you've put a high-flow cone filter on it. Is this because of all the incredible engine modifications you've made? I presume it's got a big bore kit on it, had the head flowed, fitted a full exhaust system etc.

Oh, wait, it hasn't?

Then why the fuck did you put a cone filter on it and expect it to run well?

Put it back to stock and ride it as it is. A boring commuter 4 stroke. As above if you want to go faster you have two options:

1) Take your test and buy a bigger bike

2) Buy a 2t.

If you've messed with it enough to lean out the mix (considering they tend to run a little rich as standard) then remember to alter the needle height as well - main jet only really has any effect at 80-100% throttle, needle height is what matters at 10-80% throttle.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the "shim" process I've heard about ? How would I go about doing this? Thanks Smile

Don't bother replying if you're going to be a prick Middle Finger omg and because your gsxr400 is sooooooooooooooooo good, it's the best bike you can get it can out perform absolutely anything, even a heavily modded 1400 4 inline. Yeah kid, bye bye Mr. Green

He never said anything about his 400CC being the fastest bike in the world.

You're just all offended because he told you factual information. Your bike IS merely a commuter 125CC and isn't made for speed, your "modifications" are all in vain and a waste of time. My DT with a wrecked top end will kill your bike all day long. Laughing

You still don't get I'm clearly not interested, I don't care about beating other bikes and I'm quite aware a 2t will beat me. Considering it's my bike and I'm keeping her for a long time, I can do what I want. Enough.

Scooter kid? Laughing He is neither a kid nor a scooter rider. He has something up in the 500-1000CC's. Laughing

He owns a GSX-R 1100. Therefore anything he says is correct.

I don't have a problem with someone wanting to up jet their CBR125 to make the carburation richer, if they know that it's lean after whatever inlet, exhaust and internal engine mods they may have done. This would only really be verified by using a wideband sensor and monitor or exhaust gas analyser, on a rolling road.

The advice given about the OP should get a 2stroke to solve his jetting problems is the most ridiculous and stupid thing I've heard on BCF for ages, but then there are plenty of clueless people about I suppose.
