It all depends on what you want

Do you prefer a sportsbike?
Do you prefer a supermoto?
Would your rather be bent over the tank or sat up?
Do you want something you'd have to restrict or something that meets the restriction?

These are all things you've got to consider, along with price of the bike, price of insurance etc. etc.

I don't think you'd be able to get a CBR 600 anyway, original output is over ~94BHP.

If you'd like a sportsbike check out things like the Ninja 400 or GSXR 400

I'd go for a DRZ to be honest vs the other 400 sports to be honest, so long as you keep them maintained well they're really decent bikes Thumbs Up

And not all that expensive if you take your time to find a decent one

Probably best just to save as much as you can and see what's about when the time comes, if there's anything left over use it for good gear

much much much less than the £2600 paid new, but 125's generally keep some value better than bigger bikes

have a look around bike sales places at 2011 cbf125's for an idea

Then you're fantasy shopping. Ask again in two years. Meanwhile, focus on how well you ride, not what you ride.

A 400 if you can find a decent one or an SV650S (the one with clipons)

Not much else really if you've got your heart set on a sportsbike and a 400 won't be ideal if you're a proper sized human being anyway.

Just save up as much as you can,

in two years time the manufacturers may have introduced a wider range of naturally 46bhp bikes instead of just de-tuning them.

Never know, Honda might get round to doing a 250cc version of the varadero that makes 40ish bhp causing other bikes to drop in price or even for newer models to filter through.

2 years is a long time to speculate on the market.
