Anyone know where I might be able to beg, steal, buy or borrow one from?

You'll often find that one of the engine mounting bolts is the correct thread. Just screw it in tight and give it a sharp tap wi th'ammer. Then re-tighten and bash again.
Have something soft underneath to catch it when it flys off  |

Hi
Got one somewhere in the garage which I can probably lend you. Not 100% certain it will fit a particular bike (it was bought 15 years ago from Kwak, so maybe they have changed the thread sizes).
It is a very crude device. 4 different threaded bars, to you put the right one in place then belt it with a mallet.
Note that the bolt holding the rotor onto the crank often has a reverse thread  .

Thanks Keith, but Himself seems to think it probably won't do. I have taken some photos of the offending "bit" today, this is what we need to fit........
