The longest i have gone without riding since i passed my test in 2005 was from March 2008, until august 2012.

I was in too much debt and had to get them all paid off before riding again. I couldnt have veen got a crapper bike, i was truly stuffed!

I still thought about riding every day, sad really lol

Shit happens, and sometimes other stuff can take priority. Longest I've been without a bike is just over 3 years.

2 years! I couldn't afford all of the repairs my bike needed to it stood for 2 years until I finally regained a suitable standard of living.

Longest 2 years of my life but as mentioned above, shit happens. You'll get over it and when you eventually do get back on it'll feel even better due to the enforced break you've had.

To be fair you're probably feeling worse due to the awesome weather we've been having. Don't stress though, there'll be more awesome weather and by the time that happens, you'll probably have a bike sorted!

Wotcha.

Yep - spent the best part of three months flat on my back looking at the ceiling. Then another month where I could just about get around using a Zimmer frame. . . . . . . then altered the seat on the trike so I could use that. Another month or two down the line I went back to two wheels - and that first twelve miles or so were the most scary I'd ever done.

You'll be back up and riding when YOU feel like it.

Three months after writing off my Buell. I have had periods where I've not ridden for two or three weeks, or even a month at a time if the weather is bad, but when I couldn't do any riding or spannering or even playing computer games, it got a bit tiresome.

I had a 12 year break after becoming disillusioned following 8 years as a despatch rider. I could not even look at a bike after that, but after a career change and a 10 year break, the itch started again. I decided not to buy another bike immediately in case it was just a bit of nostalgia, but the itch got worse over the next 2 years and I finally had to get back on 2 wheels in 2011. Still loving it and wont ever be without a bike again, now.

During my recent bike juggling, there was a day when I had one non-runner, one bike that wasn't being MOT'd until the next morning, and one that had sold and was awaiting collection and I couldn't in all good conscience ride it.

I'm not going to lie to you, man, I stared into the abyss on that day, and it changed me. Thousand yard stare man, you weren't there, you don't understand.

Started riding nearly 7 years ago, have had two 3-month bikeless stints.

First was between selling my 125 and getting my ZX6 as i needed to get the cash from the first for the latter.

Second was the winter before last, battery died on the ZX6, weather was shite, didn't bother replacing it for a few weeks for the odd couple of days i would of gone out on the bike.

Hopefully never again Cool

Roughly 19 years, gave up when the kids were young, I was the sole earner in the house and could not afford to run a bike or worse still be off work for any length of time should I have a spill Sad Just the way it goes in life, still now in a much better position with less responsibiliy so its all good.
