There are many different types and most are prohibitively expensive. My problem is, I don't like the ones you embed in your lid, as they are uncomfortable. We bought two of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Motorcycle-Earpiece-Headset-Microphone/dp/B00CRXCARY/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1373963698&sr=8-9&keywords=motorcycle+headset
She is absolutely fine, we have three mobiles on iPhone5's. So practically unlimited minutes alongside siri means we just keep an open phone call, redial is easy even when moving. Has anyone seen the same sort of thing with in-ear headphones. I can get these on comfortably underneath my lid, the boom microphone works a treat so would want to keep that or similar. I can just hack them together, but it's not ideal.

Siri doesn't work if you don't have 3G so you'll find that immensely frustrating.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Always have 3G, actually there is a good reason for that, three only works on 3G, hence you can't use a three sim card in a non-3G capable phone. So no 3G, pretty much no signal, so game over for talking anyway.

Only reason I've stuck with three for the last 5 years. Awesome internet performance.

Also, I think, it doesn't actually use Siri for call making, as this is available without Siri enabled.

Anyway ....

You can get apps for the iPhone (and I assume its clones) that'll bluetooth two phones together and allow you to intercom between them. No need to be connected via the mobile network itself as long as you're within X yards of each other where X is about half the range that the App-store claims it has.

I have no idea if they're any good but it's a cheaper mistake to make than a full bluetooth paired set.

Yeah I'd even considered Skype, but again that is dependent on 3g signal whereas bluetooth is just range.

I need to overcome the earphone bit first.

Perhaps I've been mis-understood. It's not the app or whatever I need. That works perfectly, particularly iPhone 5 to iPhone 5 on three as that supports that natural voice thing. So it actually doesn't sound like a mobile call.

The issue is I want a headset like the one I purchased, but with in ear headphones, not the ones that go in your helmet, as these put pressure on my ears and give me pain. I had a lot of problems on my test when they gave me one to use, found it difficult to concentrate.

I haven't found anything.

I think I might've found something.

It has the same 7 pin connection I think, need to check at home.

What are the connectors like on the flat helmet speaker kit you bought?
I was thinking you could get some silicon and mould your own in-ear headphones/earplugs (search for earlier threads, IIRC Rogerborg make a set). You could then splice these into the connector for kit you have replacing the flat speakers.

Personally I'd try fiddling with the placement of the flat speakers, cutting a recess into the helmet lining if necessary. As mine go under the lining they haven't really being a problem. The clip over your ear type used for training/test was though.

Exactly that, that's my problem and the over the ear things for test nearly killed me. Thankfully I didn't do training otherwise I probably couldn't have done it. My CBT had the in-ear, over the ear curly wire things like wannabe 007 security guards wear! But I want full stereo, or at least dual mono.

The annoying thing is, I stepped down from a Large helmet I was advised to get, which was different to the first shop who said I needed a medium. I've tried this in my Large helmet, so in theory there is a little more space, it's also an open/closed face helmet making it easier to get on and off.
