Has anyone experience of this company, good or bad please? I have just been quoted £76.96 for a year's fully comp on my baby varadero. Last year I was with MCE and it was £340.00. Am suspicious as it's so cheap.

They're an established insurer (or broker, whatever).
I insured my 125 with them but didn't have to claim so no idea if they're good or not.

Check the excess. I'm gonna guess £400 Smile

The benefits of being female, over 40 and a years no claims maybe Smile

My cheapest insurance so far has come in at £7.50 when I had the er5 (with cashback).

Think it's about £45 this year on the er6 (again including cashback, was in the £80's). This is with Bennetts, fully comp.

I've never had to make a claim, so all my experience is that all insurance companies are brilliant @ taking money. I change insurer every year.

They're not allowed to take gender into consideration any more!

I had my first bike on a Bennetts policy. As far as taking my money and giving me little in return because I never needed to make a claim went, they were fine. My renewal came through, it was big, I switched.

It does really.

Because it's checkable. If you enter all your details online and switch the gender from female to male the price does stay the same now.

I've used them a few times as they were the cheapest, got let off with a cancellation fee once which I think is almost impossible. Never claimed though but I think all insurance companies turn into nobbers when you try to get money from them.

£250 excess. Is that about right?

It's typical, but is that voluntary plus the compulsory that they might not have put in the large print?

I just went with Hastings Direct, £100 compulsory excess, and £0 voluntary. The difference between £0 and £500 voluntary was just a few £££, so I plumped for that.

All of which only helps if you're going to be in a position to need to make a theft / comprehensive claim though. Up to now, I've treated bikes as disposable, under-estimated the value and cranked the voluntary up to the max to chisel those few £££ in my direction.

I insured with Bennetts for a year on my old FZ6, they came in with a really good quote. They were always helpful when I spoke to them over the phone, I have no complaints really. They weren't competitive this year so I went elsewhere.

I've insured my Daytona with Bikesure, who were much cheaper than anyone else... although I have had to send a pile of forms and paperwork in to them which got rather tiresome.

Yeah, they lost £7m of the £92m they conned. Pretty good strategy; you and me, we'd have done time.

I made a claim through Bennetts, well I got t-boned. The guy was insured through admiral, but did not disclose his convictions. After paying 2 years of raised premiums, I gave them a courtesy call to find out how the claim went, apparently I had a blameworthy. When I asked why, their reply was because they couldn't get the money from the other party because admiral dropped him after investigating the claim to find he didn't disclose.

I had to go through the financial ombudsman to reinstate my no claims, remove the accident from history, and a lot of phone calls to Bennetts to remind them that the ombudsman is just a call away if they don't give me back in full my premium difference (which doubled, for 2 x years).

Never had a problem with them til I had to make a claim.
Admiral were an utter arse also regarding P&S, but that's another story.
