You really need to find a wiring diagram, but anyway, so what's left in the system that could cause this? poor wiring and or connections, faulty cut out switch on handle bar, faulty ignition switch, faulty cdi/ignition control unit, pickup assy ( probably on the flywheel generator somewhere), faulty windings in the generator, I am being a bit general as I am not familiar with this bike, really you need to get testing with a multimeter or a scope in a logical manner using the wiring diagrams, throwing bits at it until it works can be expensive.

Have a recently purchased a owners haynes manual which has wiring diagrams and already have a multimeter. doesnt help that i have a flat battery. Think i overcharged it after having gone flat from leaving ignition on and fried it. will get a new batt and do some testing, jus needed a point in right directio. cheers. ps changed coil due to being faulty anyway and plug because when bike was running it was overoiling

hi dude weak sparky ok, clean up the wires specally earth wire, check block connector near head light for green poop if there clean it with switch cleaning.
secondly take off lefthand tank fairing here you will see your electrics , coming up the frame is the generator wires make sure there all clean and connected, check all the connectors for grean poop , if yes clean them , when done make sure battery is full charged, then see if you have spark , if yes cool , if not , then take off lefhand generator cover and make sure the flywheel is tight if its loose then woodruff key is buggered and your crank probably shagged mtx125,s love doing theis , but if loose take off bolt take off flywheel and check to see if key is ok, if all this is ok , by a multimeter and , check generator wires to ground ,put multimeter wire to ground casing anying earth on bike, then check each wire if it shoes up with continuity as in connects shows a reading then your generator coil is pooped, your need a new 1 ,but if all that's ok , then the next thing is the cdi unit.
