So my gsxr like to loose revs and conk out anytime the engine gets above 100degrees.

I have also noticed that even when idle my lights dim slightly and flicker. If I have my indicators on they both dim and get brighter when each other is on.

Have changed the oil, spark plugs and the rad has coolant.

Could this be a power issue? - changed the rec a fee months ago and the bike starts on the button. Guessing there's something wrong with the draw as it seems to conk out when the fan comes on?

Any ideas?

Have you tested by forcing the fan to come on?

The fan isn't usually a massive draw, mine drops my voltage by .4, what condition is your battery in?

Also check what your getting from the stator and regrec.

Nope haven't forced the fan on. I think the fan thing may be more of a co-incidence

How would I do the check on stator / rec?

Get the bike running and check voltage across the battery at off, idle and 5k rpm.

Also bridge the fan on to see what the drop is like, if it has a huge effect it could be faulty.

Just another thought on this.

Its not always happening when the fan is on now.

Could it be worth just increasing the idle speed as I have noticed that when I hold the revs slightly it wont cut out.

At the moment the bike idles anywhere between 600k and 800k - I think this is wrong anyway so may increase the idle to around 1000k - 1200k

What do you think?

I'd say somewhere between 1000-1250 is about right for a 600.

So it could just be a case of adjusting the idle?

I have noticed its due on the service intervals

The only way to found out if it works is to do it.

You won't wreck anything by messing with the idle. However do let it warm up first.

600 sound way too low, I thought the average was 1000 - 1200
