CCM 604E

Fancied a new bike, but this time decided to get something different.

Jumped onto ebay looking for a supermoto, Was originally after a Husky or Husaberg but saw this CCM in great condition for an okay price. Unfortunately, i wont have the bike until thursday.

Bike is 2001 and has only done 7100 miles and is bloody clean. Paid £1600 for it.

Carry the correct tools to remove the seat on your person at all times. That way when the starter solenoid sticks you can give it a wack more easily without having to get all your tool kit out. That's what my mate used to do anyway.

Keep the battery well charged also as they have a habit of not ticking over which means they can cut out on you when you forget to keep revving up at traffic lights, this is no problem when all you have to do is press a button to restart. Left hand kick starts on tall bikes are really just for emergencies.

The rear light is the same as DTR125s if you need a spare due to wheelying disasters.

Cheers, Will defo keep the battery charged. My father had a Husky SM610 a few years back, i only managed to kick that up once.. And that was a fluke.

Cambelt model? I had one. Regretted it ever since.

Cambelt use to chew it's self apart after 50 miles and then the gearbox exploded on me. Still, sold it on eBay with a blown motor/gearbox for £50 less than I paid for it.

If it's in good nick, then they are a good laugh to ride. (Mine was whilst it was working, lol)

The engine noise will take some getting use to at first, sounds like a tractor if I remember correctly.

Yeah it was a bit of a heap if I'm honest haha.

Still, just keep an eye of the cam belt.

Enjoy it though man, Mine was friggin hilarious when it was working properly. Use to motor on too with a pretty decent top speed.

My mate's one which managed a 3,000 mile holiday despite the battery dying (I mean what I say about kick starting being a pain). He said he could crack walnuts with his arse cheeks after the first 500 miles though. It was stolen back in blighty. He replaced it with another.

Can anyone shed any light onto the Rotax engine sizes.

The engine size is 636cc but the bike is a 604.. I've read up on a factory big bore version but unsure what's what.

The insurance lists a few different versions of 604's with different engine sizes.

KTM 690 SMC is 654cc, they're just model numbers really these days.

Personally I think CCM's are ugly machines but they are cheap so

Bike is Stupidly clean, The only thing that lets it down is a brush painted engine Will sort this though.

Not sure if the gearing has been messed with but First and second are useless, Third takes off just as fast and has enough top end from thereon-out to match the fazer.

I loved my old 604 rode it back 250 miles after buying it my ass was fine surprisingly. Barely used my gixer after buying the ccm, kickstarts a pain though.
