Passed it this afternoon. Very Happy Aced the question part and got 53 out of a possible 75 for the hazard perception part so not too bad.

CBT is booked for end of August when I get back from my holiday and if that goes well hopefully on to the big bike stuff.

I am a quarter of the way to getting my full bike licence so I'm Laughing today.

Well done, always nice to get that one out of the way. I did mine 2011, and it was scary since the last time I did any kind of written exam was in 1983!
Seriously I worked harder on the theory test than I did on my A-Levels.

Yeah I was a little nervous to be fair, mainly for the hazard perception part. I took advice from here and just treat it as a game and all went well.
I had to get my head around clicking on the hazard as it was nearly on top of me, as looking ahead and clicking (from an experienced driver point of view) didn't register on the computer.

I found the hpt a headache, It's aimed at teenagers with zero road experience, basically I had to forget thirty years driving experience for the afternoon, ridiculous to put an experienced driver through that exercise imo.

Well done! Have you got a 125 ready for after you've done your CBT?

Me and the mrs still think that if you have a full licence in another category then you should be exempt from the theory test. I suppose it brings in the money for them though.

Not yet, I am still undecided upon that, I'm not sure if I am going to run a 125 or just try and get through my test then look at something after that. I have experience of riding geared 125's during my teens and early 20's so I'm not a total bike newbie.

Good job Cool

I'd go for the bigger bike to be honest, at your age and with driving experience behind you to give you a bit more road awareness in general you're in a much better position to go for the bigger bike Thumbs Up

Cheers Matt. I agree with what you're saying, the main thing for me was I would only have the hassle getting insurance and what not then having to sell it on in a couple of months when I (hopefully) pass my test. Although I used to enjoy ragging little 125's around town when I was riding on my CBT before!

The thing is as you say - in a couple of months you should of passed, i'd really consider if the hassle of buying/selling and generally sorting short-term insurance if not cancelling mid policy [and the various fees that tends to incur] is worth it.

Might as well just save the extra pennies you'd maybe lose on re-selling the bike/on the insurance and put it onto some extras for the new big bike Thumbs Up

That's the general plan to be fair. I would rather save the cash for when its time to look for a big bike. Just seems to make sence to me.
