Off to do my CBT today - picked a day I thought would be alright weather wise. Turns out, I was was wrong Laughing

It's pissing it down. Like, hammering down. I suspect it's a case of when not if I come off but I'll just have to hope it's not in front of somebody I know Laughing

I'll post back with how much chaos I've caused later Very Happy

Mine was pretty heavy rain when I got there, but we cracked on. Then the rain stopped mid-morning.

Good luck Thumbs Up

I somehow managed to get through cbt, and both mods in the dry. Though it started raining immediately after my mod 1 and the next guy locked the rear up on the mt-03 up after doing the avoidance at about 45. Still, that bastard was loads easier to lock up than the CBF600s the rest of us were on. Different frame geometry put more weight towards the front on the yam, apparently - so the down force on the rear was less and it skidded quicker. Or something. Fuck knows. Anyway, have a good 'un if you can. Don't snatch at the brakes when you're out on the road ride - just squeeze 'em on innit. ATB dude.

Did my CBT in nothing but rain, was for the best if you was to ask me now. They taught me how to ride in the rain. Very Happy

It'll be for the best. Don't worry. Wink

Rained all day for mine, the only big issue was my visor kept steaming up.

My CBT, lessons and test was done in Nov - Jan just gone

Bloody freezing and mostly raining or fog.

But anytime it rains I am not out of my depth and actually feel more at home. Sometimes its better to take some lessons in all conditions!

Dya know, I can't remember what the weather was like on my CBT... I'm thinking as I don't remember it, it must not have been particularly bad nor good. Hope it all goes well for ya, there was a bike behind me (in my car) on the motorway when it was absolutely lashing it down this morning and all I could think was 'poor sod', the rain coupled with spray off the other cars was making it hard enough to see with windscreen wipers, I don't know how he could see anything and he was giving it a fair pelt!*

*He was at least keeping up with my 70 (honest) mph...

Just got back now - got it sorted! Nobody fell off (me and my brother did it) and it was a good laugh. Shit myself a bit at first but all came together. Kept looking at the dash too much though Laughing

I did get wet though but all's good.

Not yet, I will do come September. Waiting for my uni grants etc to come through as at the moment I don't have enough in the bank to get the bike + insurance plus some half decent gear.

Really good fun though, genuinely not had that much fun in/on a vehicle in a long time. I was only on a YZR125 Laughing

I have mine at the end of the month. I know they have a fleet of cg 125's and from what I understand they are a good all round beginner bike. Should be fun.

Actually, looking on google it's a YBR, not a YZR Laughing still though, hit 65 with my 15 1/2st lump on it. Instructor got on it and told me to get on as pillion to show me the gears. Poor YBR had 30st on it, it was completely bottomed out going around the car park Thumbs Up

Heard good things about Van Vans - just a bit slow. Good seat by all accounts though, bit sore from the YBR one.

Looking at a CBF125 on finance - I know it sounds spoilt going new but I need it for at least 4 years to get me through uni so spending a bit more now should save me having to sell and rebuy another bike half way through. And it's cheaper month to month that way too. Thumbs Up Plus I'll be riding a minimum of 150 miles a week back and to as well.

Just waiting for my student loans/grants to come through (actually waiting on Liverpool JMU to actually bother replying saying I've got in or not yet... Rolling Eyes) but once they have, I'm getting some wheels.

Did mine in torential rain. Loved it. Arse was wet but it was an experience in the rain that heavy.

This gives you a good feel for your abilities on the bike as you get to realise just how much grip you have in the wet since them make you do the you turns and emergency stops.

Good luck
