I'm super happy with my NC700S. I ride every day.
Hard to get one for 3K however.
Brand new costs 5K. ____________________ MCForum meetup - One of the biggest motorcycle clubs in UK |

You may be right. Definitely not for everybody.
The torque of NC700 can be fun however.
I find my NC700 perfect for commuting and often rideouts because of running cost and reliability.
It does 65mpg in town and 80mpg on ride outs. ____________________ MCForum meetup - One of the biggest motorcycle clubs in UK |

If your commute isn't huge I'd buy a bike based on your fun/ride out side of things And not worry too much about commuting aspects
I commute about 25 round trip on a GSXR 600, my mate does a bit further on an r6 and his dad has a blade and an r1 he commutes on
Get a nice bike for 3k, I got my K5 GSXR for just under 3k with 1 owner and very good condition, 12 months mot just been serviced etc so had no hassles at all
Or if you want something more like your Hornet maybe a triump speed 4 or whatever it's called, like 2-3k for a nice one, or a street triple possibly ____________________ KLX 300r |

This. Absolutely this. I went from a Hornet to a 675 and haven't looked back, I commute 30 miles each way on it 3-4 times per week.
I'd get a B1H for that money but they aren't comfortable. A C1H would be a better bet, if you shop well enough you'll find a decent one for £3k. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600

Second a C1H being commutable and good fun (with the possible exclusion of wet/icey winter as ive avoided that to date to comment.) Especially after-work jollys take priority over sensibility asa commuter , I actually found the B1H much the same personally on a 3 hour swap with my mate, but it may depend a lot on your size perhaps? |

For a shade over 2K I would sell you a 99' C2 ZX9R with a genuine 10K miles and in /really/ good condition. it is located in North Yorkshire at the moment too. |

ZX9R's are really cheap, and although that's low mileage, you'd get an E model easily within that budget.
I sold a fully sorted C1 (15k, new tyres, new 4 pots, ZX12R shock, Z1000 gearbox, can, braided lines etc) for £1500 about 18 months ago... |
I have not seen anything that good for that money. On the basis I am not actually /that/ bothered about selling it it really is no issue too me.
Essentially, I bought it about 3 years ago when I did have a place I could keep it and have since moved to a place where keeping it is difficult (I live in sussex but parents live in Yorkshire and have a garage ) However, I can just use it when I am in Yorkshire for a bit of fun and using it down here never was too much fun because of the amount of traffic and cunty southern poofter drivers. |
