New bike reccommendation

so..got a job interview on friday i'm very hopeful about (trying to stay positive)

as such i'll have a couple of grand of actual spending money due to having zero rent/bills to pay for my last 3 payslips

so i've started looking at my next bike, currently on an 03 hornet 600 but it's pretty worn out and not being the most reliable of things and I want something a lot nicer with less issues.

Now i'll be commuting a fair amount on the bike so a full on sports effort may not be the way to go but I will be going out for ride outs etc and trecking off to random places.

TLDR, recommend me a good bike to move onto, 3k ish

Could stick with what you know and grab a CBR600F. Same-ish engine, comfy seat, great for a hoon.

You could also vary it... grab yourself 2 bikes, one mint/real tidy CBR600F/Thundercat and an off roader/fun thing for £1k or even a 125/scabby 500 for the winter hack.

Failing that, GSXR750.

Would equal win. Thundercats are awesome comfy, and cheap - but a thunderace being the litre version is just that bit...more. Also, road pits are lulz, go anywhere, cost peanuts to fix & you'll be fapping when the snow comes with 16bhp on tap

I'm super happy with my NC700S. I ride every day.

Hard to get one for 3K however.
Brand new costs 5K.

You may be right. Definitely not for everybody.
The torque of NC700 can be fun however.

I find my NC700 perfect for commuting and often rideouts because of running cost and reliability.

It does 65mpg in town and 80mpg on ride outs.

If your commute isn't huge I'd buy a bike based on your fun/ride out side of things And not worry too much about commuting aspects

I commute about 25 round trip on a GSXR 600, my mate does a bit further on an r6 and his dad has a blade and an r1 he commutes on

Get a nice bike for 3k, I got my K5 GSXR for just under 3k with 1 owner and very good condition, 12 months mot just been serviced etc so had no hassles at all

Or if you want something more like your Hornet maybe a triump speed 4 or whatever it's called, like 2-3k for a nice one, or a street triple possibly

cheers for the advice folks! looks like i'll probably keep an eye out for a thunderace or a gsxr750, or that was a good suggestion for a thundercat & a 125 for crappy winter, could be the sensible way to go

No idea on distance of commute as depends where I find work, if i get this one tomorrow it's just 17 motorway miles each way

Then I wouldn't really go for the CBR600F... it might be a different style but underneath its a Hornet..

GSXR750/1000 and a cheapo 125.

Second a C1H being commutable and good fun (with the possible exclusion of wet/icey winter as ive avoided that to date to comment.) Especially after-work jollys take priority over sensibility asa commuter , I actually found the B1H much the same personally on a 3 hour swap with my mate, but it may depend a lot on your size perhaps?

For a shade over 2K I would sell you a 99' C2 ZX9R with a genuine 10K miles and in /really/ good condition. it is located in North Yorkshire at the moment too.
