Hey guys,

Just wondering if there are any 2stroke heads out there that can solve my problem Smile.

So I'm trying to derestrict my dt125r 2002 model, I'm not so good with bikes but my bro has allready done the following, he has moved the reed switch from inside the speedo clock and moved it further away and taped it up, he has cut the rubber nossle on the inlet manifold and he has removed the rubber air box nose from under the seat, when testing the bike out I noticed an increase in power but only a slight increase and not really a pull to my other 2stroke, and it does not want to go over 7-8k rpms and seems to bog out when shifting, the bike was fully restricted when purchased, 99% of the bike was standard apart from the powder coated wheels, any help would be greatly appreciated Smile thanks. Ash

In my opinion the standard exhausts are much better than aftermarket (once derestricted that is). There's a little washer held into the downpipe by 3 bits of weld, just get in there with an chisel or something and bash them off.
I bought a DEP downpipe for my old DT thinking it would be better, it gave the bike slightly better power at high revs (7000+) but completely destroyed the power at lower revs.
The standard exhaust gives better power at low revs, also the bike will start more easily with it on
