Keeping Leathers in garden Shed???

As above really as the two daughters are growing up and needing more and more space for their ever expanding shoes, and clothes collection not to mention the wife I am the one who has to suffer and sacrifice some space.

The only place they have yet to invade is my wooden garden shed. Would this be a suitable place to store leathers. The only concern I have is no heating inside the shed would this cause damage to the leathers with the cold winters etc?

Should be okay but be cautious of damp, try hang them in the middle not touching the walls of the shed if possible. Once any mould starts on them it spreads like fire because of all the sweat and crap that builds up inside Thumbs Down

Buy a big bag of silica gel, you can get masses of the stuff and just shove it in a bucket, should keep the worst of the damp away from your leathers.

If you get the reusable silica gel you only need to put the bucket on a radiator to ready the gel for more soaking.

or you could buy an old skool paraffin heater for when you are in the shed, make it like a second home!

How much space would they take kept in the house?
It will get damp out there for sure, but some sheds are better than others and with some sort of minimal heating it might not be too bad at all.
Centrally heated houses are probably drier than is ideal long term.
Definite risk of spiders etc. Confused

If your shed is insulated/lined, I'd consider it. If it isn't, I most certainly wouldn't.

Vacummnnnnnnn (or however the fuck you spell it) bags def if you are doing that. Not ideal I would have said, if you are off the bike in the winter (guessing why they are out there and not lying on the bedroom floor) would feed them first before zipping them.

Wear the leathers 24/7. Like everywhere, bed, going shopping with the wife, sitting in the lounge, visiting inlaws, everywhere. I guarantee she'll crack before you do. Or MTFU.

at the risk of being serious for a minute, (and only 1 minute I promise!) I had a space issue so bought a cheap as fuck curtain rail from an orange DIY retailing place and fixed it to the wall for my bike kit to hang off. Thought I'd just add a pic, you have a Missus so she might not go for it but I like to wake up and the first thing I see is my leathers and makes me think of all things biking...erm OK the second thing I see after the first 10 mins is my leathers.... Embarassed

OK scrub the picture part, not like you need it anyway, cant shrink the pic.. anyway just a thought bud.

I also go with the just wear them 24 /7 I tend to wear mine alot. Though you can see some people just thinking I am a perv.
