Trapped in leathers

Just spent the last 45 minutes trapped in my leathers

Zip tab snapped off, and for some reason the hole on the remaining zip-piece is the size of an atom, not sure if its because part of the old puller is stuck inside but its not budging if so, but was beginning to wonder if i'd need a pair of scissors to get out of the thing

Anyone got any smart ideas for a fix, as a replacement zipper doesn't look likely with the size of the hole. I managed to jam a safety pin in it just about long enough to get it off but its completely bent and fucked after one operation so won't be a long term fix.

Sounds like the easiest option for now should of thought of that when i started buggering about with the paperclip on its own

Go to a fishing tackle shop and ask for "split rings"!
They come in various sizes and cost pennies.
Like a keyring only smaller, there's been one on my oldest leather jacket for more than 20 years!

Keyrings are a harder metal and should last ages, but the proper tab thing often incorporates a locking grip so any bodge will likely creep down annoyingly.

Between bristol wnd bournemouth weekly, bit far out my usual routes swindon way. I think a few of the simple methods mentioned should do the job hopefully, just need something small and strong enough to get through the remaining zipper piece

Yeah a small sturdy keyring. Used one when my boot zipper snapped as a short term solution but ended up leaving it like that cause it works fine.
Sod it I might even snap the other and do the same!
