After having z 1000 a1 frame number 9 I lost my way swopped it for a gsxr 1000 .Then many more bikes over the years .After having a ride on my mates zzr11 d4 I could see the light !. I had to get back on the big z'eds so I got a zzr11 c1 this Xmas with a little help from my lovely wife ,I put a full stainless 4into1 viper exhaust on it
I love my z'ed 23 years old and there not many modern bikes that can keep up My next job is the 60 thu mile service
KAWASASKI RULES
Is there any modern callipars that fit the front |

I'll make up for moppy's edit .
Do you mean GSXR1000 or GSXR1100?
Comfort is the only thing I can think which the ZZR does better than the GSXR and that's very dependant on a lot of factors.
Presuming you're defining better to be easier/faster/smoother rather than harder/slower/less smooth.
And yes, the brakes suck - but they do on the GSXR too, to be fair.
For the record; there are loads and loads and loads of modern bikes that can 'keep up' with an old standard Z1000 with similar riders on.
I'd have thought any 600 from the last 15 years would easily show it a clean pair of heals with a similarly skilled rider. |

The C1 I had was ok - but I've had many bikes that were much better. The rear suspension was more vague than a cabinet minister's expense sheet. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

the D model is nice, made in the USofA if I recall correctly? That said all models are nice
All big ZZRs are lovely road bikes, they make a lot of sense - plenty of low down grunt, nice tank range and a big comfy seat with fairings that work.
I have disagreed with G on this in the past few days but the torque produced, and more precisely the torque curve makes a nice smooth chunk of surge that you don't get on your sportsbikes.
Cant beat a good bit of old school raw large engine cubes win prizes. |

Have you actually ridden a GSX1400? For a retro it's a bloody great road bike - and it pulls from nothing in any gear... Not quite so sure a peaky 600 offers the same.
I have ridden both, they are nice for what they are designed for but you would be surprised at how the gsx1400 launches in a line.
Most 14s are modified anyway, I had one and was in the owners group, most of the guys who owned one had done the super sports thing and were after something different.
Horses for courses .
Again, the ZZR11 is a fantastic road bike, perfect fairing and comfort for the roads and enough power to give a big grin |

£10 says in equal conditions the GSX would get a better 1/4 mile time than the 636. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.
Skudd:- Perhaps she just thinks you are a window licker and is being nice just in case she becomes another Jill Dando.
WANTED:- Fujinon (Fuji) M42 (Screw on) lenses, let me know if you have anything. |
