 |
|
Hello chaps!
I went to see a 2004 B2H ZX6-R Ninja today, reasonably cheap at £2000 BUT!
Coolant level was low and the expansion tank has a good 0.5cms of brown sediment settling at the bottom.
Looks like very very fine sand.
What do you guys think? I was thinking maybe where the coolant has evaporated its caused some dissolved minerals etc to precepitate out?
Or maybe a sign of something more sinister?
Thanks ____________________ Professional Hobo |

Pretty much. Someone has either used the incorrect coolant, the original stuff has never been changed, or someone has topped it up with tap water rather than distilled water.
The correct coolant with distilled water will prevent galvanic corrosion between the steel and aluminium parts in the motor. There aren't may steel parts but I'd guess it has some hard pipes for the coolant system that are steel. |
