Just adjusted chain on blackbird and noticed play in rear wheel. Are bearings shot?
Safe to ride, as i commute daily on it? Can replace next weekend. ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

If you can rock the wheel on the spindle, you'd better stop riding it. bearings can go loose for a while as the cage disintegrates, but when they finally collapse you'll get little to no warning. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

^^^^^^ As above, also if they collapse you can have more damage to the seat, as mine needed a lot of effort to remove after they catastrophically collapsed on the Hastings run.
After my experience, I would say don't even think about riding, just replace now. But then I was a noob and didn't totally realise what was happening or how bad it was until it was too late. I was very lucky! ____________________ Currently: Yamaha DT 125 LC2,Repsol Fireblade, and Bumblebee MSX 125 |

Just had a look on wemoto. Rear wheel bearing with dust seals, £21.00, rear sprocket carrier bearing £5.00.
Not bad however, how long would it take a mechanic to replace these if I take bike in somewhere. Would remove wheel but got no transport to get wheel to place, unless someone on here would do it for some cash. Can't get hold of paddy as his phone is knackered, and he's round the corner.
Someone down in aylesford would do it. He charges £35ph. How many hours would it take?

'bout an hour.
I'm off Friday, so that might be a good time. Otherwise weekend but if you get desperate let me know and I'll do it one evening though it might be late. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
