60 miles is quite a way on a 125, but definately doable.
Bikes you mentioned should be fairly alright for fuel economy and position but have a sit on them down a dealers first at the very least to check theyre suitable for your height etc.
I'd look on biketrader and if long distance buys arent an optio just narrow down the search to local to your postcode. Mcn classifieds are good also |

30 miles each way is perfectly doable on a 125. Nearly all 125s are going to give you roughly the same mpg, and very few of them will be comfortable over 60mph. Positioning is a bit of a problem on a 125, as they are all fairly small with a couple of exceptions, try using this site to see the comparisons: https://cycle-ergo.com/ Choose your bike & plug in your measurements. ____________________ Honda Goldwing GL 1000 Current love

Utter rubbish, the Ybr just looks slower, they're all sub 15bhp learner bikes, performance differences are marginal and won't make any difference on a long commute. Getting something with a comfortable riding position is the top priority.
I've done the same commutes on all three bikes I've owned, and there's no noticeable difference in journey time between the 8.5hp Vity and the 96hp Fazer. ____________________ They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa, hey-hey,

there is on A roads hun, and up hills between 125s, I've as it happens just been out on 3 days of rides with my mate who owns a 2008 YBR custom and my 2010 YZF, i can go about 20mph faster up a steep hill, and his tops out at about 58-59 up a slight hill but i manage 66-68, honestly, bieng able to cruise at 66-74 cuts a heap off your journey
also a cg IS SLOWER, mine (an old one tho) managed 60 on the flat with redline shifts, and 50 up a pretty slight hill, thats a 16mph difference and is REALLY noticeable
while performance is marginal compared to say a ZX6 10hp to 15hp is the same power difference as a speed triple and a R6, infact at one point he made me overtake him and i didn't know why but i then gunned it and when asked he said it was to test acceleration difference and he said it was quite a lot
AND gearing changes nothing as his ybr tops at red at about 71 indicated or so, whereas the yzf is geared to 82 so its not due to short gearing.
So, if you want real performance, get a big bike, but if you plan on doing a lot of A roads i would get a full 15bhp bike, after owning 2 9-10hp bikes and then one 15hp bike in the past two years the difference is quite a lot.
don't care if i am flagged, just look up some of rogerborgs posts on these matters
while i think he will accept 600>125 ____________________ CBT: 10/2011 | Theory:6/2012 | MOD1: 8/2012 |

if i remember correctly he states the point that the max power compared to a ybr is only 15mph, which is quite a lot when you top at 60(25% extra top speed + mroe accel)
again, while its not much real world propotionally its like a bike that does 100 and a bike that does 125 and there are 120 limit roads that you travel on often. ____________________ CBT: 10/2011 | Theory:6/2012 | MOD1: 8/2012 |

I think the point Andy was making was that on a 20 mile journey, it makes no difference to mention. 20 miles at 60 mph takes 20 minutes, and at 70 mph it takes just 3 minutes longer, and you're unlikely to be consistantly doing 10 mph more. Let's face it much further than 20 to 30 miles, and any 125 is bloody uncomfortable ____________________ Honda Goldwing GL 1000 Current love

15 miles, each way?
That's about what I had to do to get to and from college each day, when I was doing A-Levels.....
On a MOPED.
It was still quicker than the bus.... and sure beat pedelling.
YBR, CBF or CBR?
Well... any of them are more than up to the job.
YBR is the benchmark tool for the job
CBF close contender.
CBR? Its the one you want with your heart not your wallet.
There's no 'reason' to buy a CBR over the others, other than its the one you want. Question is whether YOU think the extra cost to buy, insure and possibly run, is worth it.
Believe me an extra 5mph of book speed really is neither here nor there. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

I'm flattered and confused. I have no idea what you expected me to write, but what I would have written is that I found that a CBR125 could hold a significantly higher speed on A roads and particularly up hills than my ~10bhp HN125.
I'd have said significantly in the sense of not inevitably holding up traffic and being constantly tailgated.
However, I'd then have gone on to write that after a few miles it felt like I was perched on a razorblade and my legs started cramping, so I wouldn't want to use it for (realistically) a 45 minute each way commute.
£1500 is in Varadero territory, I can't see why it wouldn't be your default choice. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
