Hi guys, as you can tell I am new to bikes and stuff, I recently bought a Gilera DNA 50cc and obviously it is a 2 stroke. This bike doesn't take premixed petrol with the oil, it has seperate tanks. One for the petrol and one for the oil. I was just wondering what Oil shall I use in the tank?
thanks Confused

Any two stroke oil will do as long as you don't mix mineral and castor base oils together in the tank. Also in something like a DNA I wouldn't waste money on ridiculously expensive oil, any £7-9 a litre synth mineral oil will be fine. If you're really cheap we would run our dirt bikes on cheap Comma farm equipment two stroke oil, that was about £15 for 4 litres, and they all survived fine.

Any good petrol station will show you where they keep it, it's usually labeled 2t oil.

One last question mate, is the ratio usually like 1:5 for oil and petrol?
100ml is 5L of Petrol? I think that was what I read anyway.
Thanks!

Yes, it can vary slightly between machine, if you have a pre-mix reservoir then just keep it topped up and it sorts it all out for you.

Unless yours is broken or something?
