Must be electric due to hassle and noise of nitro.
It will be for outdoor use.
I don't mind short flight times so long as I can get a couple of extra batteries.
I can fly the basic ones reasonably but I have never attempted one with more than the basic controls.
Also, I don't mind spending more so long as if I can't fly it I can sell it on and make something back.
The last one looked almost exactly like that Esky Lama. It was very stable.
I am going to do some more research on these models.
Thanks |

The Esky LAMA V4, MarJay posted looks good, no tail rotor = less to damage. If they sell those blades and some engine parts separately, then it's perfect. IF it's heavy enough, I had a small rc chopper my self, once took it out, little breeze from the west and I had black hawk down, black hawk tree actually.
EDIT: it was a cheap, infrared controlled foam chopper, nothing special, was a gift and obviously not suited for the outside world. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

whatever you get, ensure there is spares backup for it.
Ripmax as a company have been around for a long time, although some of their range is seen by the company as disposable toys, others serious models.
E-flite's blade series were good sellers in the model shop I worked a few years ago, ALL the parts for it were available as spares to the extent you could build one from parts if you wished.
They come with training balls which are fitted to the landing gear and look like table tennis balls on the end of sticks, but they help prevent the copter toppling over on take off and landing. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

I've got an Esky Big Lama, supposedly is large enough to fly outdoors.
Got mine for around £80 and bought another battery so can get around 16mins of flight together.
Great fun, works well outside (not in strong winds) and isn't too hard to learn on.
Did have a hard time learning to take off without it flopping over. Best way i found was to just gun it off the floor and then stabilise ____________________ A2 Passed 18/6/10 |

I paid £50 for one that was 'allegedly' half price.... 50m it said on the box
When the wind died down enough to actually get off the ground (for a whole 4 minutes before needing a 3 hour charge ), it got about 20feet in the air, lost its signal and came crashing down on a steel shed. It snapped the nose cone off it's mountings |

Not an easy piece but magnificent in its conception. The 1812 only works with real cannons and bells, The helicopter quartet only works with real helicopters ____________________ Bikers make great organ donors, get 115 on your licence today. |
