The latter has had the sign turned around, wonder how that would pan out in the event of a insurance claim.

^^^You could try https://www.fixmystreet.com/ I found it easier than phoning the Council and was surprised when 3 of the 5 faults I submitted were repaired.

fixmystreet is great, it got the potholes at the end of my road covered with yet another mound of glass-smooth tarmac which will be an ice-rink come winter. Thumbs Up

Hmmm doesn't health and safety state that once you see / know something is unsafe then it becomes your responsibility if anything happens ?

You could get your trusty 13mm/17mm and turn the sign round yourself as it must be loose then tighten it up...

Wonder if the old bill would believe you though... Thumbs Up

If you owed a duty of care in the first place, it gives the HSE a bigger stick to beat you with. The absolute worst thing you can do from a liability point of view (I've been assured by a Man With a Clipboard) is to record an issue and then not deal with it.

So do please point issues out to your local council, you'll be helping those that get caught out by them.

What road? It's not my proper job but I do resurface quite a few roads as they got rid of the people that used to do it.

It's well outside my sphere of influence. It doesn't look too bad though. Is it one of those lumpy ones that photograph like a billiard table? I get that all the time, same with steep slopes on green lanes, photographs make them come out looking like a particularly flat bit of Holland.

There's a lovely, bendy road between Radstock and Haydn that was really bumpy. Over the 3 or 4 years that I rode down it, I worked out the perfect line that was fast but missd all of the bumps.

The week after I bought a car they re-tarmaced it.

Round here they just fiddle the consultations to get them in (ie, be very selective about who they drop consultation forms on, knobbling views against them)

Probably the path that people walk down to get to the allotments, it may be behind the fence.
