The latter has had the sign turned around, wonder how that would pan out in the event of a insurance claim.

I think I put that build out in during the early 90s. It's Whitethorn Street.

I'll get the sign put the right way round on Monday.

^^^You could try https://www.fixmystreet.com/ I found it easier than phoning the Council and was surprised when 3 of the 5 faults I submitted were repaired.

fixmystreet is great, it got the potholes at the end of my road covered with yet another mound of glass-smooth tarmac which will be an ice-rink come winter. Thumbs Up

Hmmm doesn't health and safety state that once you see / know something is unsafe then it becomes your responsibility if anything happens ?

You could get your trusty 13mm/17mm and turn the sign round yourself as it must be loose then tighten it up...

Wonder if the old bill would believe you though... Thumbs Up

Meh. Everyone's responsibility is nobodies responsibility.

Edit: I think this kind of applies here.

If you owed a duty of care in the first place, it gives the HSE a bigger stick to beat you with. The absolute worst thing you can do from a liability point of view (I've been assured by a Man With a Clipboard) is to record an issue and then not deal with it.

So do please point issues out to your local council, you'll be helping those that get caught out by them.

Karma Drove past yesterday & its fixed. Now, who do I see about re-surfacing a road that shakes my bike to pieces Smile
What road? It's not my proper job but I do resurface quite a few roads as they got rid of the people that used to do it.

Bewdley street, its horrible. The other day my mirror came loose & started spinning round its that bumpy. I also hate that road as its where a van crashed into me Rolling Eyes
If you mean this one,

It's well outside my sphere of influence. It doesn't look too bad though. Is it one of those lumpy ones that photograph like a billiard table? I get that all the time, same with steep slopes on green lanes, photographs make them come out looking like a particularly flat bit of Holland.

There's a lovely, bendy road between Radstock and Haydn that was really bumpy. Over the 3 or 4 years that I rode down it, I worked out the perfect line that was fast but missd all of the bumps.

The week after I bought a car they re-tarmaced it.

Bastards...

And just who do fixmystreet report it too......

Far better just to go to local council web site and report it there.

Managed to film a video without breaking my phone (in my shirt pocket). It's the road after I turn right at the lights. It doesn't look quite as bumpy on film (think my spine cushions a lot of the impact), and yes I forgot to cancel my indicator, and yes my steerings bent...

I once went to a meeting where a man stood up and complained about my recently installed road humps. I asked him what was wrong with them and he said,

" They're not right, I have to keep slowing down to go over them".

Round here they just fiddle the consultations to get them in (ie, be very selective about who they drop consultation forms on, knobbling views against them)

All the best

That would be quite a smooth road here in Sheffield.

Probably the path that people walk down to get to the allotments, it may be behind the fence.
