Help with insurance on 125cc bike!

Hey!
I am thinking about getting a 125cc bike like the derbi gpr. Can anyone tell me how much i could get insured on one of these. i am looking to try and get insured for up to £500. Or if anyone knows any superbike style bikes that are cheap to insure please let me know thanks.

Have you checked on gocompare or confused? Get a few quotes, put some bikes in that you fancy and see what prices you get, it's the easiest way.

Insurance quotes change with the bike, the person, the postcode, security, storage, mileage, usage and the direction of the wind. You're just going to have to punch your details in and see how much they stiff you for.

The Bike Insurer usually turns up the cheapest quotes for me.

If the Derbi comes out at crazy prices, I'd suggest that you try a Honda CBR125.

I have checked out a couple of bikes and the best price iv got it down to is about £500 to £680

Have you tried different classes of cover: TPO, TPF&T, FC. Far better to invest in a Almax or Pragmasis chain and ground anchor than to pour it down the insurance drain.

Listing it with and without any security on it. You may be surprised, my last quote went up 1/3 with security listed.

Putting in a higher mileage than you expect to do. Again, do not make any assumptions or try to apply logic or common sense, insurance and in particular bike insurance is a complete lottery. You have to scratch a lot of cards to find the winner.

Oh, while you're getting quotes, put in fake contact details and an address near to but not exactly yours. Find the cheapest quote and take that out with your real details. People have credibly reported their quotes rising or simply being refused cover when they do repeated searches using the same details.
