Bought this a few months back. Only done 1950 miles, (Previous owner was I the navy and barely used it). It's completely standard apart from a Scottoiler.

Plans are:

Get some braided brake lines
Tail tidy
Decat the exhaust

Any other suggestions??

Chrome bulbs in the front indicators. Removes the orange-ness!

I'd keep it as it is Thumbs Up

I don't know how clever the DFi unit is, but aftermarket exhausts cost only problems and a lot of unwanted noise, of course. I had open exhaust on GPz550 and I had to use ear plugs to rev it above 4k rpm Rolling Eyes

Then, I had NC27 with OEM exhaust and the bike was noisy enough with perfectly smooth engine. Now I've got ZX7R with ''tuned'' open exhaust and I'm not very pleased with the performance. Don't let people tell you, that new exhaust adds power, it only ruins the factory setting + with modern in-line four you do not need more power. Thumbs Up

By the way, original condition always keeps the prize up.

Rolling Eyes Get a modern bike and see.

I've had multiple exhausts on multiple bikes, any difference in performance is not noticed. Noise is what you want, wouldn't want a whisper quiet sports bike.

After the GPz, I like it a bit quiet, plus, and I might be getting old here but, I sometimes feel like an idiot when I start my bike in front of my garage and all neighbors are looking at me like I'm the biggest cxnt in the neighborhood. I prefer performance over the noise, it's mental to ride something that loud, that you can't rev it over 4000rpm without earplugs on public roads.

I don't use earplugs and have a very loud twin.

The noise is part of the smile factor.

I partially agree, well my exhaust was, well, check it your self: https://s970.photobucket.com/user/RhynoCZ/library/New%20exhaust%20system?sort=3&page=1

When the db killer was in, it was as loud as the ZX7R I own now, maybe a bit louder. There's some after market open exhaust muffler. With out the db killer, it was, well, people in a couple of miles radius knew I was riding. There was no absorbing material in the system. I kind of miss that old greasy bike. With ear plugs in and db killer safely in the garage, right next to the tool box, it was alright for me, not for people around.

EDIT: As I've said, there's no point in having something that requires ear plugs, if you ride on public roads. Plus the cxnt thing. Thumbs Up

Take off your muffler/s and go for a short ride, that's how noisy that GPz I owned could get. And imagine it's Sunday 8:00 in the morning, summer and start it up in front of your garage that happens to be part of a apartment house. I actually pushed the GPz to the end of the street before I could start it, because people were complaining about the noise. Laughing

Bad AIDS?

Very clean bike, don't ruin it by tarting it up.

Enjoy.
