 |
|
I'm just browsing bike trader, and there are CB599s and then hornets, in different categories. Are they identical? I was under the impression they were different bikes, but any differences between them?
i.e.....
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201309118727832 hornet
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201309108710197
CB
Same bike right?
There are some really well priced models with 25k plus miles on them. I'm assuming that sort of mileage is pretty normal for a bike like this, and well within its comfort zone so long as regular maintenance etc was kept up?
Also, does anyone have any general opinions on the hornets etc... Experiences and recommendations? It's a great looking bike. |

Straight from wiki
"The Honda CB600F (known as the Hornet in Europe and Brazil and 599 in the U.S.) is a standard motorcycle manufactured by Honda."

Yeah same bikes. Not 100% sure about the 600s but id imagine that mileage is fine. The cb500s can hit over 100k with decent maintainence and keep going comfortably so i cant see it being much different for the 600s. All the CB's are great as all year work horses |

Yes, they're the same, and yes 25k they can manage no sweat. The engine's been around for a while in the Hornets, so any kinks have been ironed out. ____________________ My Flickr |

Actually thinking of selling my zx6 and getting a cb500 or 600 - bit more useable all year and for the mileage ive been chomping through on the zx6. Figure it should hold its value a bit better longterm considering mileage going up a lot also. Maybe another pipe dream though, time will tell |

Its so few miles, and still has 8 months on the manufactuers warranty, thats what's so attractive to me. Plus my local dealership is in quite an affluent area and honestly the majority of bikes brought and sold there are big touring things etc, not many yobbos like me pass through there.
Plus 5k of ragging it, whats that on a hornet engine, nothing significant right? |
If you think that 5k of ragging on a hornet engine is OK, why would having a warranty bring you comfort? Hornets are bulletproof, they don't need a warranty...its just like pouring money down the drain. However, I guess it's good that you're keeping a business afloat, leave the eBay bargains to others like me.
That being said, it's a decent price. Just go and buy it. |
