Ring up your bank and get them to cancel the DD. Had to do this once when the contact no. for some life insurance didn't work.

At the end of the day you don't owe them any money and it would be a hell of a lot harder to get it back once they have it (and they'd soon charge you an admin fee for the privilege).

I always email the to get cancellation confirmation. Harder to claim they have no record of you cancelling that way Thumbs Up

No. Call bank or get on your internet banking and cancel the DD. If it does debit. Call bank and get them to return it and refund you.
You have to be aware that the DD process can be started upto 10 days prior to debit and in that time it can't be stopped.

Ring up bank, cancel direct debit and request an indemnity claim for the money. They will put it back instantly and bill Swinton.
