Funnily enough there has been a few cases of immigrants climbing into refrigerated boxes and for some reason they end up frozen and dead. Just a bit more useless information for you.

I saw a Blackbird dropped in the mud at the Farmyard party this year. It went down pretty hard, but when he wiped the crap off it there was hardly a scratch on it. The screen split, but that was an aftermarket item. Bloody well made, so much so that I'm currently shopping for one. Thumbs Up Very Happy

My Honda slid down the road for 10m and all it got was scratches.

Suzuki... they have really smooth gearboxes, a bit too smooth though.

Yamaha.... they have chains which snap on the M4 when going slightly fast.

Kawasaki.... they make really good chains, in fact the OE chain on my ZX6R out lived the engine. Laughing Shame that the clutch basket decided to go bang. Doh!

Honda, my NSR never made any attempt to kill me or my bank balance. Mr. Green

Ive had 3 hondas up to now, and haveing heared storys of iffy gearboxes and bits rotting off on other makes... probably going to stick with them (bearing in mind the newest bike i'm likely to get is 10 years old or so..)

Certainly never had anything go wrong that wasn't down to normal wear, in fact things that really should have stopped working didn't.

I see it this way, most jap bikes serviced properly will run very well for a long time, especially hondas... any italian bike no matter how much attention it gets is liable to explode or have iffy electrics right out of the crate...

Hondas main downside is there bikes are either uglyer or duller than comparative bikes from the other three major japanese manufacturers, i like the look of allot, but i think most people dont.. they are probably the VW of the bike world, long lasting sturdy btu.. not all that exciteing looking...

Well the dogs (bit that hold it in gear) and where the dogs go into rounded so that it wouldn't stay in gear. First gear was fucked beyond use and the other five were still useable but fuck all life left in them. One new gearbox and one big bill. Neutral

There really isn't that much difference. Hondas over the last 20 years have gone from having reliable regulator / rectifier units (so good that people used them to replace the ones in Suzukis), to having ones with a very short life. The original V4 engines tended to eat their crankshafts very quickly, although occasionally they outlived the cam shafts. The regularly screw up with cam chains. The finish on plenty of their bikes is not that good at all.

One thing the Italians are definatly better at doing than the Japanese is making brakes that survive winter use.

All the best

Keith

CG125- need i say more?

yes i do!

they are f*cking awful, but my one's 15 years old and its in perfect nick, it doesn't vibrate or fall apart or anything, its great.

HONDA, i wont ever own one again, no fun or excitment in knowing that your bike will be just as good in the morning as it was the night before.

i hate having the CG, its the most economical, reliable, comfy, slow, boring thing ever, i might as well get a car.

there's no fun in it.

if you want reliable DON'T get a bike ever, even BMW's have their problems.

I almost liked the feeling of hhmm whats going wrong with my bike next? made everything more interesting.

il do a straight swap my CG for your bike.

deal?

done!!

Paul
