Need some wheel spokes made, which companies?

Apart from central wheels.. as they don't reply to emails even when "Warren Harding" ? offered to make me a set.. I then gave him the yes go ahead, but no reply since..

So which companies would you recommend please?

Sorry can't recommend anyone, but I'm sure there must be few listed in the "classic" bike mags, worth a trip to WHSmith for a thumb through the mags.

Ha, I was going to say avoid Central Wheels! I had shockingly bad service from them a few years back, I still feel annoyed about it now. There is the Devon Rim Company but I haven't used them at all.

I read about someone had a set of trial wheels for a refurb and where they laced the rims back up spoke scratches all over the rims, and they sent them back to him like it was nothing..

lol, my six week build for some sumo wheels from stock hubs turned into many months, several angry phonecalls and emails, one set of rejected wheels and me driving to Birmingham to pick up whatever they had managed to redo.

Need them made? Aren't there any ready made ones "off the shelf" on ebay?

Failing that, they are not hard to make. You need the blanks (or a set of over-long ones), a wire cutter and a spoke rolling tool.

I am pretty sure that Malcolm Simmons (1 mile from Brands Hatch) does advertise in the ACU South-Eastern Region magazine to do wheels for trials competitors in the various clubs.

Otherwise,it may well be just as easy to buy some spokes and cut your own threads using an appropriate die.

As a sidenote,I used Hagons when the business was run by the old man.But since the son took over and the business moved to Hainault,it seems to have gone downhill,from personal experience.

As for Central Wheels,I was disgusted by the way that Waffles' wheels were presented the first time around.Damaged paint on the hubs.Scratched painted rims.Badly masked stove enamelling on the bearing area.
Thankfully,it was done much better the second time around.
