Hi all, just a quickie

My friend owns a new Speedfight 3 50cc and is looking to partially derestrict it, it does 32 at the moment and hes looking for 40-44.

Does anyone know what restrictions this bike has in place and what the simplest are to undo?

The only clue i have so far is when he gets to about 34 then the revs drop and the bike slows to about 27. Im thinking CDI box for this?
Its also bound to have a washer in the exhaust, where abouts are these located?

Cheers, Adam

As far as Im aware, de-restricting these is a real pain in the arse. You have to replace the CDI unit and try to remove the washers from the exhaust (but im lead to believe they're right down the manifold) and then remove the washer from the variator.

My friend spent a week trying to de-restrict his, gave up, and gave it too the dealer to do. I think he only charged £50 or something.

if you want to make it go 40-45 mph you will need to take of a restoration plate on the back of the bit that spins the belt it is held in by 4 small nuts and soon as you take this off you will be doing 40-45. well i did this on my speedfight 3 AC P.S its hard to get to it but is worth it

This thread is from august, if he hasn't worked it out already I doubt he comes and checks this thread daily for updates.

There are only a couple of restrictions on the peugeot speedfight 3.
There is one in the variator- which is rather easy it took me only aprox 5-10 mins ish, all you have to do is after taking it apart it take the 8 washers out and one of the disc part of and keep them of and you will reach aprox 45 or that's what I get.
There is one in the exhuast although the best thing to do is buy a new lighter exhaust and use that. As far as I know I do not believe there is a rectricton in the cdi how ever there maybe be as on all speedfights the revs are restricted. If you can take the restrictors of you will reach around 60mph aprox with tuning maybe 70 75mph

2 year old thread. Did you not see the banner?

Furthermore, it will not do 60 MPH. Not in a million years unless you drop it off a cliff or spend a fortune on it will it do 60 MPH. Maybe 60 indicated, but not 60 MPH real.

A speedfight 50 will not even indicate 60MPH - KPH yes...

As for 70-75 MPH 'with tuning'? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. That is all. Middle Finger

The last post was made 10 years, 330 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
