Personally I feel that if you do something the state deems naughty, you should keep that shit to yourself.
After all, coppers can use the internet too.

Yeah I don't get the whole 'I was doing 100 (KMH OBVIOUSLY)' or 'on a private road of course' thing. Some people are way too worried.
I quite often do over 100mph on completely public roads, in fact I probably do it at least once on almost every occasion I go out.
I speed all the time and ride irresponsibly, in fact I'll be doing exactly that later today.
Worst case scenario, someone must have gained access to my account and started writing stuff.
Of course in reality I have never gone above the speed limit and never in my life will do so. I love following every law in life. ____________________ Generic XOR 50, Gilera SMT 50, GSXR 400 GK73A, Ducati Monster 600, Honda Hornet 600.

Including his bike, IIRC, because it was "evidence".
But that was after repeated public posting of egregious displays of excessive larking around. Anything short of that, who cares, there are easier pickings for hitting your targets.
I have noted by PM a few times when people have pulled a "Mark Roberts" that might land them in trouble if it were taken seriously.
However, I'd (genuinely) never suggest that anyone edit or remove evidence of what I believe to be actual wrongdoing. That could be interpreted as perverting the course of justice, which is treated far more seriously than most road traffic offences.
Least posted, soonest redacted.
None of the above is true, of course, except the bits that are exculpatory. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yea; his bike that I believe was more a pile of parts at the time - perhaps slightly making the whole 'road safety' argument . |

I see admitting things on here as kind of the same ball park as torrenting, I know I am traceable with either and if I get caught out then I'll have nobody to blame but myself and little come back either but in either case there are far easier targets to go for who have done far worse than I, kind of safety in numbers in a way ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

However, say you were up on a criminal charge like causing death by dangerous driving. You could find past claims being used to refute your argument that you were habitually a carefull driver.
Not necessarily anything specific but it could conceivably be used to build up a background picture of you as a hooligan. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Whatever you say, wherever in the world you are, you can always claim you we're just joking or exaggerating, it is not a crime to be a pathetic liar. Unless, you planed to do some embezzlement, forgery, fraud, and so on.
PS: There certainly are countries where being a liar is a crime, but definitely not in the EU. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

It is not a crime to lie on a forum in such a manner, sure.
But if you are trying to convince someone in authority of your sincerity, explaining how you're a liar may not be so well.
And of course in one of the examples above the person in the dock didn't get the chance to claim anything, thanks to their plea. |
