tie a tennis ball (has to have the reflector lines) to a piece of string a meter long.......stand in front of the speed camera facing the other way and swing the ball round and round in circles above your head.........then the dvla will have a thousnd pictures of the back of your head..........10 years ago this trick would empty the film so you could race....now there all digital  |

i remember with my first car,trying all the sprays and glossy films that were 'garunteed' to stop it reading your plate......that turned out to be an expensive venture .!  |

Off topic as not average speed cameras but...
On the M62 Leeds area they have the variable speed lanes (so they can use the hard shoulder for traffic congestion ). However, when off the speed cameras behind the signs are still active. There has already been stories of people receiving NIPs for 70+mph.
IMHO there's also the chance of a massive cockup. Can you really be sure the camera still doesn't think speed is 50 when the matrix is actually off? Plus approaching one overhead sign and suddenly switched on to 50mph. Cue some rapid braking just in case there wasn't any wriggle room. Good road safety measure that, not. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...
